Introduction to Solar Energy Part 2

The second part of the introduction to solar energy.Suitable for post grad students.Define and describes about Fermi Energy Level,Photovoltaic Effect,Forward and reverse bias,p-n junction etc. Introduction to Solar Energy Part 2 from Mrinmoy Majumder Mrinmoy Majumder,  Founding and Honorary Editor  Innovate for Sustainability  http://www.baipatra.ws

An introduction to Solar Energy : Part One

"The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has planned a detailed trajectory so as to meet the target of 100 GW by 2022. A capacity of 23.12 GW was installed up to July 2018. Projects of around 10 GW are under implementation and tenders for additional 24.4 GW are issued."( EleTimes,2018 ).  Keeping in view of the updates received from MNRE and many other govt resource it can be concluded that solar energy can induce stiff competition to the fossil fuel based electrical energy resources in the race to become the number one source of energy. In coming days the significance of solar energy is going to be aggravated. As a result, I will like to introduce the basic concepts of solar energy in a PPT presentation. The presentation consist of the basic concepts of sun to electricity including but not limited to Fermilevel, valence and conduction band, energy level etc. which will be introduced to provide quality information to the interested and already acting as "stake hold...

Top Three Software for Applying ANN without code

Recently the Water Resources and hydro power portal published a list of software that you must learn if you want to apply the advantage of Artifiicial Neural Network in your project even if you do not know coding. The list was not extensive but selective. While preparing the list the following factors were given weightage of importance where the first factor was given the highest importance and last one the opposite: 1.Ease of Use 2.Price in INR 3.Support 4.Features 5.Frequency of use in related problems 6.Number of Updates per Year 7.Probability of Bugs The list is available in  Baipatra  home page.

Calculator for some Design Parameters of Pumped Storage Plants

A new software to calculate Specific Speed,Submergence and Overall Efficiency of Pumped Storage Plant was developed recently. Some important design parameters for Pumped Storage Plants can be Calculated with the help of this software. The software can help students, researchers, engineers to calculate the specific speed, submergence,Potential of Cavitation in the flow and efficiency of pumped storage plants along with the L/h ratio to find the economic requirements of the plant with the help of Normal Speed,Generation and Pump Efficiency along with gross head.  This calculator can calculate : Specific Speed Submergence Cavitation Potential Frictional Head Loss Overall Efficiency of Pumped Storage Plants If the following inputs are given : Speed,Gross Head and Discharge for Specific Speed Specific Speed,Gross Head for Submergence Barometric Head,Suction Head,Effective Head for Cavitation Potential Length of the Tail Race,Effective Head,Friction...
