Validate Your Simulations

Model estimation is needed to be compared with the observed data to validate a model.Generally Mean Square Error,Absolute Error,Correlation,Covariance,Standard Deviation,Variance and Efficiency are used to measure the difference between observed and model estimated data set to find the overall validity of the developed model.

Helping to Validate Simulations was developed to calculate performance validation criterias(mean square error, actual error etc.).

The limitation of the software is given below :

1.Data set Amount maximum of 250

2.You can not copy-paste your data into the software. You must enter each values of your data set into the data entry window.

3.The software is a html page and it will open if you have IE or Firefox. But the problem lies in its size. Its little bit heavy and may take time to open.

But if you think that calculating these formulas again and again is more boring than the above 3 limitations, download the software by visiting HtVS(or Right Click and select Save Target As).Enter your observed and predicted data in the fields under the column Observed and Predicted.Click Decide button to get the result The result will be given by the last value of the bold titled columns.

How to use ELECTRE to solve water and energy management problems ?

ELECTRE is widely used to solve problems from water and energy management. This tutorial shows how to work with ELECTRE method such that the readers can use this method to solve water related decision making problems. ELECTRE  is an outranking method where options outranked each other and the best option remains. Here both concordance and discordance index was used to find the outranking criteria. For application of ELECTRE in Water Resource Management you may refer to the following publications : Raju, K.S., Duckstein, L. & Arondel, C. Multicriterion Analysis for Sustainable Water Resources Planning: A Case Study in Spain. Calculator for some Design Parameters of Pumped Storage Plants

A new software to calculate Specific Speed,Submergence and Overall Efficiency of Pumped Storage Plant was developed recently. Some important design parameters for Pumped Storage Plants can be Calculated with the help of this software. The software can help students, researchers, engineers to calculate the specific speed, submergence,Potential of Cavitation in the flow and efficiency of pumped storage plants along with the L/h ratio to find the economic requirements of the plant with the help of Normal Speed,Generation and Pump Efficiency along with gross head.  This calculator can calculate : Specific Speed Submergence Cavitation Potential Frictional Head Loss Overall Efficiency of Pumped Storage Plants If the following inputs are given : Speed,Gross Head and Discharge for Specific Speed Specific Speed,Gross Head for Submergence Barometric Head,Suction Head,Effective Head for Cavitation Potential Length of the Tail Race,Effective Head,Friction...

Latest News from Water Energy and Informatics World in the last 15 days of November 2024

For the full Podcast : Click Here (00:00:01): Hello and welcome to another edition of Hydrogeek Podcast. (00:00:09): So today I will discuss about 10 most significant news of the first week of (00:00:15): December 2024 from the world of water, (00:00:20): power and informatics. (00:00:24): Now, although I am (00:00:27): I am referring it as first week of December but actually these news are collected (00:00:33): from the last 15 days of the month of November okay so I think rather than (00:00:43): referring it as first week of December let me refer it as the last fortnight (00:00:59): of November 2024. (00:01:11): So let us begin. (00:01:18): The first news is University of South Florida scientists used the Chris Hazard app (00:01:30): to analyze real-time flooding in Pinellas County and Hillsborough County during Hurricanes, (00:01:40): Helene and Milton. (00:01:43): The app, (00:01:43): developed in collaboration with Georgia Tech, (00:01:47): uses volunteered geographical informatio...
