150 hydrology software manuals

Hydrologic Software from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are very popular among all the scientists and scholars researching in the field of hydrology modeling. Many new software were also developed based on these Hydrology Engineering Center(HEC) made software models.Surface Water Modeling system provides graphical interfaces to HEC1,HECHMS and HECRAS models. MIKE-SHE also use the basic software framework of HEC to develop their own sophisticated software. In most of the courses regarding hydrology modeling these software were invariably taught due to their wide acceptance through out the world.

As usual most of these software are not very easy to learn. You will need either a thorough manual describe the step by step procedure to solve prediction problems or an expert instructor to learn the simulation tools in detail. That is why HydroWeb has compiled a DVD featuring the detail manuals of all the software produced by HEC.

The DVD contains 150 manuals. This DVD can be a nice collection for any student or teacher interested in hydrology modelling. While searching for an alternative to existing hydrology modelling tools I found this in the hydroweb website : http://hydroweb.com/hydrology-software.html

Smart use of Water and Energy in domestic households

How to optimally utilize the water supplied to domestic households such that both water and energy used in running the supply pumps can be conserved. The proposed "sensor based network of sub-tanks" can help to reduce the wastage of water and the introduction of purifier at the inlet to the pump will save energy which is otherwise wasted due to core losses of the pump... Top Five most used decision making techniques for identification of best option (if you have many available alternatives)

Decision support systems are used to assist a decision maker to select the best available solution from a set of solutions. The problem with the existing method of selection lies in the fact that the choice may change with the change in the decision maker as the entire process is subjective and does not follow any specific operating procedures to execute the selection. In any DSS which are used to manage a water or energy based systems will require to consider multiple factors before selecting a one single option from the set of numerous other options to solve a single problem. As for example if we want to select the best location for installation of a Hydro-power plant and we have three different locations available for carrying out the desired operation then we have to look for specific factors based on which we can identify the best location. Now these factors are required to be evaluated for each location to come into conclusion.Again not all the factors are equally importan
